BBC3 set to go online only as trust backs plans to scrap TV channel

BBC Trust have approved for the decision to get rid of channel BBC3, it would save the company £30 million a year. Main concerns about getting rid of the channel would be that  the loss of services to the key 16- to 34-year-old demographic as well as the BBC’s ability to try out new ideas and develop new talent. Weekly,  11.2 million people watch BBC3 every week. The BBC are thinking to launch BBC3 exclusively on iplayer. 


BBC aims to become 'leaner and simpler' with new round of job cuts

Hundreds of jobs will be lost as a result of cutting costs due to the fact they are facing a £150m-a-year shortfall in funding and growing political pressure from the Conservative government.
